biography
Dr Ougrin graduated from a medical school in Ukraine in 1998 and came to England
to undertake his post-graduate training. He completed his basic psychiatric training
at Guy's, King's and St Thomas' training scheme in London and is currently a Specialist
Registrar in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at South London and Maudsley NHS Trust.
Dr Ougrin is also a Kraupl Taylor research fellow at the Institute of Psychiatry.
Dr Ougrin leads a programme of information exchange between the UK and Ukraine and
organises annual conferences on psychiatric services' development in Ukraine. His
main professional interests include prevention of Borderline Personality Disorder
and effective interventions for self-harm. Dr Ougrin is an author of Therapeutic
Assessment - a novel model of assessment for the young people presenting with self-harm
in emergency. He is the chief investigator of a randomised controlled trial of Therapeutic
Assessment. Dr Ougrin is a mental health theme editor of London Journal of General
Practice. He is an honorary research and audit consultant at Brent Primary Care
Trust.

biography

Dr Audrey Ng studied medicine at the University of Wales, College of Medicine graduating
in 1999. She undertook her basic psychiatric training on the Guy's, King's and St
Thomas' London Hospitals training scheme and is now a Specialist Registrar in Adult
and Old Age Psychiatry (Dual Training) on the Charing Cross and St Mary's higher
training scheme. She recently completed a Masters of Arts degree with distinction
in Psychoanalytic Studies at The Tavistock Centre in London. One of the authors
of Therapeutic Assessment, she is also involved in research utilising infant observational
techniques to understand the experience of dementia from a psychoanalytic perspective
as well as qualitative research involving carers of patients with dementia.

biography
Dr Zundel studied medicine at Guy's and St Thomas' in London, graduating in the
year 2000. He then started his post-graduate psychiatry training working in Australia
for a short period before returning to the Guy's, King's and St Thomas' training
scheme. At present he is a Specialist Registrar in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Zundel's particular areas
of interest include developmental psychopathology in children and adolescents with
a focus on emerging personality disorders, self-harm, the significance of specific
psycho-social factors such as interactive mult-media environments and also gender
identity development and dysphoria. Dr Zundel is an author of Therapuetic Assessment
- a novel approach to the assessment of young people presenting with acut self-harm.
He is one of the principal investigators of a randomised controlled trail of Therapuetic
Assessment in London.
